Causeway Bay Victoria Park｜⁠⁠Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival 2026

Description

This year's Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival includes various kinds of activities to allow the public to sample the festive atmosphere and to appreciate traditional arts and crafts. Apart from spectacular lantern displays, the carnival will also feature intangible cultural heritage (ICH) elements such as traditional lantern making.

The following items are prohibited in the venues:

naked-flame lanterns, alcoholic drinks, aerosol spray, metallic balloons or glass bottles;

any items which may be offensive or health hazardous or which can be used as weapons or used to impede the smooth progress of the event; and

any banners, posters, placards, leaflets or publicity and display materials, the contents of which are commercial, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, religious or political.

When necessary, visitors entering the venue shall undergo security check.

Visitors shall not perform any acts which may affect the smooth progress of the event, or acts that may harass, disturb or annoy any other person.

Visitors shall ensure the observance of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and other relevant laws of Hong Kong in relation to the safeguarding of national security (“National Security Law”), and shall ensure that no act or activity which is likely to constitute or is likely to cause the occurrence of an offence endangering national security under the National Security Law or other laws of Hong Kong, or which would otherwise be contrary to the interests of national security, is engaged in the venue.

Any person who contravenes any of the Pleasure Grounds Regulation and House Rules of the Carnival venues may be denied entry and/or removed from the venues.

Additional measures for visiting Victoria Park:
Admission is on a first-come-first-served basis, and temporary crowd control measures will be arranged when there are too many visitors. Please follow the instructions of the staff and police officers on site.

To avoid overcrowding on the Mid-Autumn Day, visitors who want to appreciate the lanterns are encouraged to come on other dates during the display period.

The programme is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Festival.
